I Feel Like I Discovered Fire, or Something.

What is it?

I know! People have been merrily stitching together pieces of cloth for eons, right?   I can’t explain why my production of a simple cloth item makes me so jubilant, but it does.  I rustled up this clothes-peg bag out of an old skirt in less time than it takes to watch the American Idol finale.

Granted, it’s not perfect.  On the plus side, it’s highly functional, and it is lined with the lining of the skirt.  On the down side, clearly it pays to actually measure shit rather than just developing a rough idea and getting busy with the scissors.

So: next project is to make a decent napkin out of the old hand-stitched very rough-hewn peg bag that is falling apart anyway, which is itself made out of one of K-man’s old shirts.  Because here, we meta-recycle.

Seriously, why did I wait so long to get a sewing machine?

I used to have a hand knitted iPod cover… and my other half knitted herself a Blackberry cover :)
